I don't know too much about American history... mainly a bunch of ugly stories here and there... and I have no ideas what the civil war was even about... so I can't help with much there...
But... what I can say is that America has done a lot of fighting to get ahead... at least compared to their neighbours to the north...
The United States of America may have had an established Government before Canada, but Canada's Government recognized the rights of others much earlier...
Who knows? Maybe if the confederates won, the U.S.of A might be a safer and more friendlier place?
